About us

We, Wouter, Brigitte and Ben Cornelisse, work at Slaapkamer Amsterdam. Brigitte and Wouter are the owners of Slaapkamer Amsterdam. Wouter will meet you most often in our showroom. He knows a lot about beds and mattresses and has been working in this industry for over 25 years. He also delivers all the beds himself, sometimes with the help of one of his sons. Brigitte and Ben work behind the scenes most of the time. Brigitte keeps accounts and is an all-rounder, helping with online presence and with sales. Ben is the son of Wouter and Brigitte. Apart from studying robotics at the Technical University in Delft, he is an entrepreneur and designs websites like this one, for example.

After years of being located at the Ceintuurbaan in Amsterdam South, we decided to take a different approach to the store. We wanted to go from a walk-in store to an appointment store so that we could better organize our time and help our customers in a more targeted way. This meant that a shop window was no longer necessary, because from now on we would arrange all appointments online. Ben then redesigned the website and logo to a more modern version in consultation with Wouter and Brigitte. In August 2019, we moved the store to the current showroom at Jacob van Lennepstraat 99 in Amsterdam West.
