When you're looking for a sturdy bed, design is sometimes forgotten. One of the best raw materials for making a robust but also beautiful bed is wood. Here at Bedroom Amsterdam, we mainly deliver wooden beds, because we ourselves are enthusiastic about these beds. In this blog, I'll tell you what kind of wooden beds we sell, where they come from and how they're made.

The wooden beds in our store come from our Swiss supplier Hasena. Hasena was originally a family business, as it was founded in 1951 by three brothers: Paul, Willi and Felix Hasenfratz. In a small shed, they learned how to assemble wooden slatted frames and beds. They appeared to have a talent for it, so within a few years she expanded it from a shed to a factory. Their motto was “From the tree to the bed”.
To personalize the wooden beds to your needs, the Swiss bed concept was invented. This is a concept that works with modular systems to make the bed more personal. For example, various options can be chosen for the bed, such as several legs, corners and headboards that can be adjusted to height. In addition, a wide range of colors and wood can also be chosen for each bed and matching bedside tables and other accessories can be chosen. This way, the composite bed will exactly suit your bedroom and taste.
Hasena has been supplying us with quality wooden beds for 70 years. The beds are made of different types of wood such as Oak, Akazia or Beech. The wood is custom-made and finished with a protective layer, so that the beds will last for more than 20 years. Small parts and weak legs are avoided to ensure strength. In addition, almost all the wood used in the beds bears the FSC label. This label means that the wood does not come from exhaustible sources: all wood is harvested in forests that are managed responsibly. Hasena's aim is that all their wooden products are certified with the FSC label.
In our time as a bed shop, we worked with various suppliers of wooden beds. This gives us an idea of the different qualities of wooden beds. With our current collection, we have never had a complaint about the quality of the beds or had to repair anything. If you want to come and see the beds, feel free to use a make an appointment!
